Sunrise flights
Balloons in Marrakech fly at dawn, when the air is calm. Pickup is before sunrise and the flight lasts about an hour (about 40 minutes on the shared flight). On the shared flight, sunrise is not guaranteed.
Safety and weather
Flights only go up in suitable conditions, after a safety briefing from the pilot. Stay clear of the fans while the balloon is inflated, never stand between the balloon and the vehicles, and no smoking near the balloon. If the weather is not right, the flight is cancelled and we help you rebook.
What to wear
Warm layers you can take off, closed flat shoes, a cap and sunglasses. It is cold before sunrise and warm by breakfast. Avoid loose scarves near the burner.
Best time of year
All year round. October to April brings clear air and snow on the Atlas; summer mornings are warm and pickup is earlier.

Is breakfast and transfer included in the Marrakech balloon ride?
Yes. Every flight includes pickup from your hotel or riad in Marrakech, coffee and tea, the flight, a Berber breakfast (or breakfast on board for the Royal Flight) and the drive back.
What time does the balloon flight start?
Pickup is before sunrise so you fly at dawn. The exact time changes with the season and is confirmed the evening before; you are usually back at your hotel late morning.
