Bus, grand taxi or private chauffeur?

Choose according to your group size, luggage and how much flexibility you need. Compare the final door-to-door cost, not just the advertised seat price.

Option A: Public coach — CTM or Supratours

A scheduled coach can be economical if you are travelling alone or with light luggage. You will normally need a separate connection from the airport to the operator’s Marrakech departure station, such as a taxi, and possibly another ride on arrival in Essaouira. Allow time for immigration, baggage collection and the station transfer.

Departures follow fixed schedules rather than your flight’s arrival. Check the exact station, availability, current fare and luggage rules directly with CTM or Supratours before committing. We do not quote a bus fare here because it can change with your date and service.

Option B: Street taxi or grand taxi

A city street taxi and an intercity grand taxi are not interchangeable. Confirm that the driver can undertake your full journey to Essaouira. Shared grand taxis sell individual seats and can feel cramped with a full vehicle; a privately hired taxi gives your group exclusive use.

Vehicle condition and air conditioning vary, so ask before boarding. Agree whether the fare is per seat or for the whole car, whether luggage is included, and your exact drop-off point. Do not assume every taxi has the same price or level of comfort.

Option C: GoTouris private Mercedes Vito chauffeur

For a direct airport pickup, our Mercedes Vito carries up to seven passengers in an air-conditioned private vehicle. Your chauffeur tracks your flight and meets you at arrivals with a personalised name sign. There is no need to connect to a coach station or share the vehicle with other bookings.

We arrange pickup and drop-off around your accommodation. If your riad is in a pedestrian-only medina lane, the vehicle stops at the nearest accessible point; we agree that location with you beforehand. Send your luggage list, including surfboards or pushchairs, so we can confirm the right vehicle.

Our Mercedes-Benz Vito Tourer has individual premium leather captain-style seats, front and rear dual-zone climate control, USB ports and 12V charging cables. Its long-wheelbase luggage area accommodates 6–8 large suitcases, depending on their dimensions; tell us about oversized equipment when booking. Capacity remains up to seven passengers.

A high-speed mobile Wi-Fi hotspot is available on board; actual speed and coverage depend on the mobile network. Chilled bottled water is complimentary on airport and intercity transfers.

The following are our published one-way route rates in Moroccan dirhams (DH), per private vehicle, not per person. Rates are negotiable and may vary with the date, exact addresses, requested stops and availability. Your final all-inclusive price is agreed on WhatsApp before confirmation and stays fixed for the agreed itinerary.

The journey: from Marrakech to the Atlantic

The drive west is part of the experience: city streets give way to open countryside and villages before you approach Essaouira’s coast. This is argan country, with distinctive trees associated with the region’s argan oil production.

You may have seen photographs of goats in argan trees. Treat a sighting as a possibility, not a promised attraction. We do not guarantee wildlife encounters or schedule staged animal-photo stops. A scenic pause or café break can be requested when booking, with timing and any additional cost agreed beforehand.

Keep water and a light layer handy for arrival on the coast. For a medina stay, save your riad’s full name and contact details, and confirm where you will meet your host after the vehicle drop-off.
